nyc woman and dog electrocuted

It has become an unfortunate Winter ritual in new york city. Every winter a new york city dog and or it's owner gets shocked, sometimes fatally, on a damp winter day. While we have always advocated our walkers stay away from anything with electricity, either a damp day or not, there appears to be many more hot spots to avoid too. Please view the aspca's article on how you and your dog can avoid stray voltage.

I stay off grates, manholes, etc. and there are special types of booties your dog can wear to protect them, I think with a rubber sole.
