enemy to the nyc dog owner - the nyc bike rider:

Pictures likes these are a dime a dozen in the city. Bikes routinely come close to hitting dogs, baby carriages, let alone our ankles. I'm not into playing a game of inches when it comes to my body. I ride a bike myself in the city and have since I was a kid but it really has become the wild west on the streets. It would be nice to see a little bit more patience from those behind the wheels and on bikes too. Hopefully people will not have to cause a tragedy to slow things down a little.

The thing that gets me is when cars and bikes keep driving straight up behind you. Do they think about if you happen to stop? What then?

Bikes scare the heck out of me and I have seen accidents in my neighborhood. You're so right about cars and bikes not giving a little bit more "room for error". Error, ha, that sounds funny when we're talking about metal hitting flesh.
