animal charities - helping working animals around the world:

A charity you might not be familiar with is safe haven 4 donkeys. They help the extremely over used working animals in the Israeli / Palestinian areas. Many of these animals, like many working animals around the world, are pushed to the point of collapse and are then left dehydrated and / or injured to die.
Another charity for working animals is the world society for the protection of animals. They have some great projects that help working animals around the world.

animal charities - help cats, dogs and bears in asia:

A charity I have long supported is Animals Asia (AnimalsAsia.org). They have these great programs where they educate the Asian public on the benefits of having and caring for domestic animals. It's a proven fact that having an animal extends your life and when you touch an animal your heart rate slows and so does the animals (:
Animals Asia is also a leader in the fight to end the cruel practice of caging "black bears" for their entire lives. They do this to drain them of bile from their stomach. This is idiotic on top of cruel because the bile they use for a medicine can easily be replaced by a natural herb.
Animals Asia has great "art auctions" and products to purchase in general. If you want to have an impact on animals in another part of the world I highly recommend Animals Asia.
