could the cheeseburger of the future come from a test tube?

Could your cheeseburger of the future come from a test tube? It's already happening actually in a project called new harvest. New Harvest was originally started to enable astronauts to synthetically produce meat in outer space. But with all the environmental impacts of industrial farming it is being looked at as an alternative for the mass public too. At the moment it is too expensive for mass consumption but once the method is perfected it could be a cost effective, painless and a much healthier alternative to industrial farming. I think this is a great idea but it will take time for some people to get used to it. Please click the following link to view the new harvest website.

want to help the environment & animals? plant a tree!

Seventh Generation, a great company for products not tested on animals, has created a fun way to help replant the urban forest in new orleans. Donate to the seed collective to replant new orleans and you can watch your own virtual tree grow right on your computer screen.
