S'Nice NYC and Brooklyn -

I've been trying some new sandwiches from S'Nice (on 8th Ave. between Jane and Horatio) and loving them. My Father tried the mock meatball parm hero and said he never would have guessed there was no meat in it. I've been eating the Philly cheese sandwich (with soy cheese), the Caeasar wrap, the Meatball Parm (for vegans ask for no parm) and they have different pasta combinations daily. Of course you can never go wrong with a Hazelnut coffee and vegan cupcake either (^_^)

Peanut Butter & Co. - West Village, NYC

Peanut Butter and Co. (240 Sullivan - between Bleecker & W. 3rd) is a unique restaurant in that almost everything they serve revolves around peanut butter. The majority of their sandwiches are vegetarian and some are vegan. Here are a list of some of their unique sandwiches:

1. Dark Chocolate Dreams Sandwich - Dark chocolate peanut butter and cherry jam, stuffed with shredded coconut.

2. Jerry Seinfeld Comedy Special - A sliced, toasted bagel topped with peanut butter, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon.

3. The Elvis - A grilled peanut butter sandwich, stuffed with bananas and honey.

4. White Chocolate Wonderful Sandwich - White chocolate peanut butter and orange marmalade with a crunchy layer of thinly sliced alomnds.

5. Peanut Butter Cup - Peanut butter, kissed by a chocolately layer of Nutella.

Village Natural updates their menu -

village-natural-nyc-restaurant

Village Natural (46 Greenwich Ave.) recently updated their menu and it's definitely been for the better. A real winner for me has been the black bean burger with soy bacon, guacamole and greens on a whole wheat role. You can throw in a guilt free side order of sweet potato fries (taste better with a little salt) and be happy that they are a good carb. For dessert I haven't loved the pies but if you're in the mood it's hard to go wrong with the rice dream sundae with pecan sauce. You can click the following link to view the full Village Natural menu.

Birdbath Green Bakery - with a selection of vegan baked goods in The West Village

birdbath-green-bakery

The Birdbath Green Bakery in the West Village of New York City (Charles Street and 7th Avenue) is a new breed of bakery and a new breed of business in general. How's that? Everything you eat, touch or look at in their stores is environmentally friendly. Their walls are made of wheat, their cups of corn and they deliver their baked good from the East Village to the West Village by way of a bicycle driven cargo rickshaw. The ingredients in their foods are largely organic and local. For vegan offerings they have vegan raspberry muffins, vegan blueberry scones, vegan chocolate chip cookies and vegan oatmeal raisin cookies. Last Spring and Summer they had a great vegan wrap too and hopefully they will start offering it again.

Gobo - West Village Vegan Food

gobo-nyc-vegan-restaurant

Gobo serves some very tasty, though expensive, vegan food in the West Village of New York City. Some of my favorites are: the soy cheese and spinach wontons; the new england roll; steamed spinach dumplings; pine nut medley (pictured below) and the vegetable moo shoo. You can click the following link to view their entire nyc vegan menu.
